I know of several people who are not happy with the service and facilities and have moved or are seeking to move from the location. I hope that this cancellation policy and the owner's behavior is not consistent with snap's desired culture. If it is, then your model will fail in a cut throat business area.
Very clean and friendly gym. Members are very friendly. Can ask anyone to stop what they are doing to spot you. From cadio, free weights, cable weights, MMA, Latin dance, yoga and other equipment you don't see at every gym, they have it. Owners are very nice and friendly as well. Great gym for anyone.
Just wanted to confirm what the other reviewer Steve O said. I had the same issue from when the place had just opened. I lived in Kingsport in 2012-2014. Signed up when the place was pretty new. No contract. Just month to month.
I am the owner of Snap Fitness of Kingsport. We strive every single day to provide a quality service to all of our members. Over the last 7 months we have made some major improvements to our gym. We hired an amazing, energetic, intelligent and hardworking new manager. We also hired an equally talented PR and branding manager. We surveyed all our existing members and collected lots of suggestions for improvements. We have added a Mini MMA, Crossfit, Bootcamp, Self Defense area. We call this new area, The Snap Performance Area. In this area all members can do crossfit, boot camp and MMA style work outs. This area has been a huge hit with all of our members. We have also added new cardio machines and new weight lifting equipment to our already large selection. We added vending with nutritional and supplementary drinks. We also provide our members with a large selection of Snap appreal and swag. Lastly we adding several new and exciting exercise classes: ladies self defense (totally free to anyone, even non-gym members), MMA, Zumba, Yoga, Latin Dance, Bootcamp, Silver Sneakers, etc. We strive every single day to provide a clean and friendly exercise experience to all our cherished members. We have much more projects and goals in the near future to provide an ever improving exercise experience for our clients. Come and check us out.

I've been a member for 11 months great gym very helpful staff . Classes are great also . They are really working hard at making it the best place to work out in Kingsport tn 5 stars in my book !

Cleanliness became a problem; lack of paper towels and toilet paper as well.
Cardio and other machines were compressed in floor space to make room for MMA style training.

When providing notice the owner was not only dismissive but also caused a scene by speaking very loudly for all to hear. He threw it in my face that I only pay so little for my membership. Not my fault he negotiated poorly.
Few months later, I was moving out of state so I had to cancel.
Manager said that I had to bring a letter in writing to cancel. So I came back later with a letter. He assured me it would be canceled.
Instead of trying to deal with him, I just went straight to my bank and issued charge backs for the 2 charges.
Sure enough the next month I was billed. I called from out of state to have him refund me and cancel my account. He confirmed it was canceled. Again the next month, I had the monthly fee billed to my account.
When my friend and I handed in our 30-day notices we were treated rudely by the owner; dismissive. While I understand that the 30-day notice is required but at the same time we can continue to use the facilities until the end of the month and perhaps even be billed in the next cycle. That policy is not unusual for gyms. However our access cards were IMMEDIATELY deactivated even though we had paid through the cycle (a couple weeks longer).
I'm writing to inform you of substandard service that reflects poorly on your brand. I was a member at Snap here on Stone drive in Kingsport TN for 7 months. The experience grew progressively worse I would say in large part due to the owner's direct involvement.
