I have always boarded my dogs at Andes-Straley. The facility is wonderful and the "clinical staff" have always gone above and beyond to take great care of my dogs. After vacationing out of the country we returned to pick up our animals on a Saturday. I have boarded my dogs with Andes- Straley 4 times now and I am more than aware that payment is due at the time of service. In fact the sign sits to the left of the desk as you walk in.
Even when I was made to feel like a LOW LIFE for not having paid DUE TO DEMOGRAPHICS NOT BEING UPDATED. While also being made to feel like I was somehow DODGING the situation at hand. Having referenced each time that I had used them and PAID ON THE SAME DAY FOR BOARDING! With this first SATURDAY pick up being the first instance of us being UNABLE TO PAY DUE TO DOWNED CREDIT CARD MACHINES!
I'm not sure what Holly's title is within this organization, but she has done Andes-Straley a great injustice today.
I WAS STILL SPOKEN TO LIKE I WAS AN INGRATE!
And she responded as follows-
My little Wilma was shaking and lethargic, took her to see Dr Andes and he took great care of her, followed up and rechecked blood and she was on medication, but a few days later she is as perky and happy as ever. Dr. Andes and staff are friendly and helpful.
You will receive your 280.00 Holly and lose someone who spoke very highly of this Veterinary Hospital.
Holly decided that it would be of her best benefit to berate me for making such a request. Citing that she did not have a payment plan on file so I needed to pay in full by October 1st. I asked her if I could simply split the payments up. People we are talking about ONE PAYMENT OF 140.00 AND A SECOND PAYMENT OF 140.00 and some change. I was asking for three weeks after having to put my dog down.
I called today to ask Andes- Straley if I could split my payments up into two. You see I had to euthanize my pug yesterday after kidney failure and pancreatitis so I was hoping that there would be a way that I could have the complete bill paid in a total of THREE WEEKS.
My vet for 3 dogs. Not sure what the staff do since they cannot help you if a licensed vet isnt in the office if you take your dog in last minute. Mine had a septic paw from a bee sting. Came away with nothing but got lucky somewhere else. Another time the vet was there but he didnt touch my dog..just stared at it. Cold! Didnt like him and first impressions mean a lot. Its all about the almighty dollar but their location is best for me .
When advised that I wanted to work out a payment because of unforseen circumstances- I was told that what I had offered was simply not good enough.
However, when we came to pick up our dogs on a Saturday the credit card machines were down and we were told that we would be sent a statement for the charges that were incurred. My fiance and I to be honest did not realize until sometime in August that we had never received a statement!! I called to update our address (our demographics were never read back to us to update) and finally received the statement in the mail.
I am a manager of a Family Practice office and have worked many years in different collections capacities. I would NEVER speak to someone the way that I was spoken to today. NEVER.
I sincerely hope that you check your attitude at the door next time and learn to be a real leader.
Grooming dept does superb job! Brittany is the best and always does great job. I feel very comfortable and trust leaving my babies in their care!
When told that my dog was put down-- There was no I'm Sorry/ There was no kind words/ NO EMOTION/NOT A THING.
When educating her on how much we love Andes- Straley as a boarding facility and how we use them each year for vacation- I was told that we had only used them 4 TIMES. (I take one vacation a year mind you) She then scoffed as if we were not patrons of Andes-Straley.
As one of the only vet clinics that accepts exotic animals, the staff at Andes-Straley goes above and beyond to accommodate our rat care needs. Our 2 year old rat had a huge mass (and a small one) surgically removed last week and I could not be more pleased with their work. It wasn't easy leaving her there, but the doctor and technician really made me feel better about it. They will always be our vet of choice!
